Second life is an MMORPG where you take on the role of yourself only in a different life. where there are 'no rules'. People from al over the world log in everyday and it is one of the fastest growing online communities in the world. In second life, you can trade with 'lindon Dollars' which are purchased with real money, and people are making real money from it. It is possible to earn a substantial amount of income from things such as propety development, fashion designing, etc.
People from all over the world have made accounts and it is scheduled to grow even more.
Your 'alter-ego' or character is a key part of the game as you can completely change anyrthing about them e.g tatoos, hairstyles, latest designer clothing and shoes, and you can be any race, gender, build or age you want.
You can do pretty much anything you can like in the real world whilst in second life, as it is designed to be unlike any other computer game with objectives or confine, as you make your own.
Possible problems i can see arising from this game is that people will strive to adopt an alter-ego which wold be impossible/illegal in the real world for exaple paedophile, rapist, serial killer, drug dealer, and this could pose numerous problems to players and the whole mentality of second life users and indeed the internet communtity.
